Angel Foundation believes that with a cancer diagnosis, life changes in an instant. We offer local adults in active cancer treatment stability to help manage non-medical financial burdens they face at the time of diagnosis. We also provide parents with children the tools and resources they need to parent through cancer. Our Emergency Financial Assistance program provides grants to help cover expenses like rent, mortgage, utilities, food and fuel, often within 3 days that the application is submitted. Our Facing Cancer Together Program provides education and emotional support for the whole family. Programming includes summer camp for kids, art therapy classes, monthly outings for pre-teens and teens, and parenting support groups. All are free of charge to participants. Angel Foundation was founded in 2001. Since that time, we have given out over 8 million dollars, providing critical emotional and financial support to thousands of Minnesota families. Angel has become a vital resource in our community. |

Monique got into safety work after she went deaf in her left ear (due to an extremely loud church fundraiser of all places!). She had to quit her job. Monique then studied, wrote the book: What Did You Say? and was appointed by the governor to the Commission of Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing Minnesotans (MCDHH). In her presentation, Monique discusses various aspects of hearing and stresses that hearing loss is permanent and not only for older people anymore. Monique also discusses how to prevent hearing loss and ways to better cope with it. Website https://hearing-loss-talk.com/ |

As many of you know, Sandy Greninger does so much for our community. Sandy's husband, Chuck, was diagnosed with ALS in 2018. Sandy and Chuck are trying to spend as much time together as possible and they are on a mission to get as much of their bucket list checked off as they can together. The American Legion recognizes how much Sandy has done for the community and we would like to give back to her and Chuck. |

In 2009, Steve Fredlund co-founded (and still serves as volunteer Executive Director) a nonprofit working in Rwanda. He learned so much (both research and first-hand) about global poverty, disease and suffering; and also what can be done to alleviate it. He engaged deeply in determining solutions, but also engaged deeply in the people and stories of those who are living this out day after day. |
