Michael is the son of Keith and Theresa Wettschreck of St. Michael.  He has received numerous awards in mock trial, speech, debate and Congress.  He made Mock Trial Varsity as a sophomore and placed fifth in state last year and made state again this year.  He won the Mineapple Debate Tournament, and has won awards in almost every speech tournament this year, including first place twice.  He has been accepted into the National Honor Society.  He is the co-chair (next year chair) of a toy drive and advertising.  He also works at McDonald’s and teaches at Church Bible Camp.  He plans to go to medical school to become a doctor.

“Rotary is very proud to honor McKenna, Emily and Michael as students of the month for March,” said Kevin Lenz, STMA Rotary Club Community Service Chairman.  “Their commitment to academic excellence and community service truly represents the core values of Rotary.  We wish them happy and successful futures.”

The STMA Rotary Club honors students of the month during each month of the school year.  The awards are given during the students’ junior year so they may include them on college applications and scholarship forms.  Rotary Students of the Month are selected by STMA’s home room teachers.  Rotary Students of the Month must demonstrate an interest in their community, have personal accomplishments or achievements, show respect to themselves and others, show a passion for “Service Above Self” and must be drug/alcohol free and cannot have committed a crime.
