STMA Rotary Club and STMA Football Players Team Up for Service Day

The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club and St. Michael-Albertville High School Varsity Football Team recently teamed up for a day of community service. 
 
Rotarians and STMA football players cleaned a 2-mile stretch of County Road 35 that has been adopted by STMA Rotary, from Jamison Avenue to Hamlin Avenue.  They also assisted several area senior citizens with yard cleanup and window cleaning. 
 
Rotarian Kevin Lenz and STMA Varsity Head Football Coach Jared Essler coordinated the community service day.  Football team participants for the roadside cleanup included Coach Rich Jensen and seniors Tyler Berhow, Tony Bork, Tyler Dallum, Gavin Dick, Owen Gammell, Ben Gapinski, Allen Giller, Jeff Hackenmueller and Thor Holstad.  Rotarians for the roadside cleanup included STMA Rotary President Aaron Thomas, Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty, STMA Schools Superintendent James Behle, and Dr. Andy Konz, D.C. and his guest volunteers Christine Alberts and Andrew Schmitz.  Football team participants who helped with the senior citizen’s projects included seniors Brian Ferry, Jamey Kolles and Brendan Poland.  Rotarians Linda Borchardt and Kevin Lenz assisted with the seniors’ projects.
 
The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club meets at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays in the Crow River Senior Center at the St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive, St. Michael, Minn.
